Gator Venture Capital is a student organization looking to deliver value to two groups: (1) Students seeking a career in venture capital or entrepreneurship, and (2) venture capital firms seeking deal sourcing, due diligence, or portfolio company support. Our mission is to provide students with an accurate representation of what it is like to work in venture capital whilst developing constructive relationships with venture capital firms.
Meetings open to anyone interested in venture capital and/or tech. We will cover the basics of the space, industry and technology trends, and will undergo hands-on workshops and training.
Connect with professionals and learn directly from the best in the industry. GVC will host highly accomplished entrepreneurs and venture capitalists to share their knowledge and conduct hands-on case studies with our members.
The analyst program offers students a unique opportunity to gain real-world experience in venture capital. Analysts will operate in cohorts of 4-6 members and be paired with one of our partner firms to conduct deal-sourcing, due diligence, and portfolio company support. We intend to hold all Analysts to a high standard given the nature of the work, but we encourage anyone interested to apply.
Conduct thorough market research and opportunity identification in the early-stage landscape. Learn to recognize what makes a company stand out to investors.
Engage in the second layer of early-stage investment analysis: Due Diligence. Deep dive into the most interesting opportunities to distinguish what may be investable.
Finally, collaborate with founders to prepare pitch decks and investment memos, defend your idea in front of our VC partners, and convince investors that your idea is worth the risk.
